The Abyssinian cat originated in Egypt but was further developed in England. They are one of the oldest cat breeds.

Abyssinians have a ticked coat, large ears, almond eyes, and muscular build. Coat colors include ruddy, red, blue, and fawn.

Intelligent, energetic, and mischievous. Abyssinians are loyal to their families but demand a lot of play and interaction.

Agile and acrobatic. Abyssinians love climbing, perching, and playing fetch. Provide them with puzzles and toys. 

Abyssinians are vocal cats who chirp, meow, purr, and "talk" to their owners frequently.

Require weekly brushing to control shedding and distribute skin oils. Trim nails monthly.

Generally healthy but genetic health screening of parents is recommended. Annual vet visits.
